  • Indirect Patient care robots: For this type of care various types of robots used are delivery robots (deliver medical goods throughout a hospital), pharmacy robots (streamlining automation robots for inventory), disinfection robots (interact with those people who suffer from infectious diseases such as HAIs) etc.

As the technology advances, artificial intelligence & robots are being used in medicine to help patients to experience less pain & to recover very quickly.

(ii) Perform Surgeries:

This is one of the interesting ways which allows robots to perform surgeries & greatly reduces the risk involved in surgery. It is an advanced form of small incision surgery where surgeons use a computer-controlled robot to assist them in certain surgical procedures. To perform surgical tasks & to operate in very tight spaces in the body, surgeons prefers robotic technology. Da Vinci robot is one of the examples of a surgical robot that has contributed to a huge increase in the use of robot-assisted surgery in healthcare.

(iii) Rehabilitate Patients:

As we know, after any serious injury or accident patients have to undergo physical therapy & rehabilitation centre to regain their mobility. Researchers say that stroke rehabilitation can restore hand function. Medical robots are used to treat patients with muscular atrophy & another disease to regain strength & function. Robotic technology enables stroke survivors to self-motivate & control the movement of the weakened muscles.
